If you are on any blood thinners, be sure to notify the provider.

On the Day of the Procedure:
Drink plenty of water and make sure you have eaten something, especially if you have any issues with low blood sugar. Plan to take it easy on the day of and the day after the procedure. If it is your first procedure, you may want to bring a driver.

After care Instructions
The number one rule of recovery is: if it hurts don’t do it.

It is common to feel some pain and discomfort for 24-48 hours after injection. You many be numb in the areas treated for 4-6 hours after the procedure. After the first 2-3 days, the soreness will start to subside. It is important to listen to the body. Try to refrain from any strenuous activity but stay as mobile as possible. Get up and walk frequently. “Motion is Lotion!”

Do not use any medication containing ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin or other prescription anti-inflammatory medications, such as Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Voltaire, Mobic, or Celebrex for 7 days after treatment.

You may use ice, adequately insulated, as needed for pain and /or swelling (10 minutes to cool the skin, repeat every 2-3 hours as needed). Be sparing of your use of ice beyond three weeks post-injection.

The treatment is very simple. First, a blood draw is performed. The blood is then placed into a centrifuge and spun at a very high speed for several minutes. After spinning in the centrifuge, the red blood cells are locked in on the bottom, while the plasma-enriched fluid is found on top. This plasma is then extracted and injected into the affected area.

Injections:

  • Traumeel injection: Traumeel, which is a homeopathic anti-inflammatory, which includes Arnica, Echinachea, Chamomile to give a low level of regenerative healing.
  • Platelet rich plasma therapy: is an amazing therapy for neuropathy. This therapy allows your own body to help heal itself. During this treatment, we draw your blood, and spin the blood in a centrifuge. The red blood cells fall to the bottom and the golden plasma is found on the top. This plasma is then drawn up and injected into the feet. PRP has wonderful enzymes, proteins and growth factors that help regenerate the nerve and surrounding tissue.
  • Human cellular tissue and biologics: this is also an amazing therapy for neuropathy. Human biologics help regenerate affected tissue and help in the healing process. We get our products from New Life Regenerative as well as from Platinum Biologics. These are the top products used for cellular regeneration.

Various Modalities

  • Red light therapy/Lipolight therapy: we use red light therapy in our office to help with a multitude of problems. Our red light use two frequencies for pain and inflammation reduction, but also for shrinking, oxidizing and permeating the bodies fat cells. Red light therapy helps for pain reduction, decreasing inflammation and improving overall health and well being.
  • Electrical Stimulation (EMS): this treatment works similar to a tens unit, but has more frequencies and currents to help balance the nerve conduction and signals. This treatment is usually done in the office, and electrodes are placed strategically on the hands, arms, feet and legs to make sure that the body and brain are getting correct stimulation to allow the nerves to fire quickly and correctly.
  • Ultrasound: is a wonderful modality that helps calm severe nerve pain. deep ultrasonic waves within body tissues to treat pain, muscle spasms, and joint stiffness. Unlike electrical modalities, ultrasound is unique in that the longitudinal waveform associated with sound is not electromagnetic in nature. The piezoelectric crystal converts electrical energy into a strong vibratory sound wave, or ultrasound, a sound beyond the normal range of human hearing. Sound waves cause vibration in soft tissue cells, increasing temperature, and inducing vasodilation, to give you the relief you need.
  • Detox Foot baths: the main benefit of an ionic detox foot bath is to enhance the body’s own detoxification abilities. This allows the body to remove toxins, including heavy metals and other toxic elements from the body. This modality also increases circulation and decreases pain and inflammation.
